Food King

Four Food King locations participated in the Add Milk! program from May 2021 to April 2022. SNAP recipients who spent $1 on a qualifying milk purchase with their SNAP EBT card earned a $1 coupon towards their next purchase!  

How it worked: 

1. Customers would use their SNAP EBT Lone Star card to purchase a qualifying milk product from a participating Food King location. Qualifying milk products are any size 1%, skim, or fat-free fluid cow’s milk, including lactose-free milk, that is pasteurized, unflavored, and unsweetened.  

2. On the receipt from the qualifying milk purchase, a barcode was printed. This barcode served as the coupon.  

3. The coupon could be used to get SNAP eligible products free on the next transaction or purchase. For customers participating at the Lubbock store locations, the coupon could be redeemed, like cash, for any fat content unflavored, unsweetened fluid cow’s milk that met the other dietary guidelines above. For customers participating at the San Angelo or Littlefield locations, the coupon could be redeemed for any unsweetened, unflavored dairy product whose first ingredient was cow’s milk, excluding cream. This included items such as plain yogurt, cottage cheese, and 2% milk. More than one coupon could be used in the same transaction.  

4. Coupons would expire 30 days after they were issued, and could only be used at store of issuance.
